In the year 1999, humans begin to advance beyond the limits of the Solar System. On the planet Gishn, ruled by Emperor Zul, the Earthlings are detected and he targets them for elimination as part of his ambition to conquer the galaxy. To accomplish this, he sends a baby named Mars to Earth along with a giant robot named Gaia, powered by an energy strong enough to destroy an entire planet. As part of his dastardly plan, Mars would then grow up and detonate the bomb within Gaia to destroy the Earth.
However, when Mars arrives on Earth, he is adopted by a Japanese family and named Takeru. Having grown up among the people of Earth, Takeru refuses to take orders from Zul and instead joins Earth's defense force as a member of the Crasher Squad.
